BPM Meetup #5 with Leah Tharin, Reflecting on 2023, Exciting Plans for 2024, and CoHorts Preview!
Exploring Growth, Sustainability, and Exciting Initiatives in Berlin Product Managers' Journey
Dear BPM Community,
It has been an interesting 2023, where we tapped into Lenny’s Community to create something meaningful with speakers who shared their insights and way of working. Some found our topics too vague, or not easily understandable, others found them funny and inspiring.
Up next...
Our next event will start the BPM season and we worked hard to push the community beyond. As we keep our mission in mind: Foster product culture in Berlin we aim to get top speakers, increase seniority level among the community, aiming for an aftermath of top learnings and networking.
We want to personally thanks our members from Babbel: Julian Ringel, Eli Cohen, and Ulyana Egof among other to make our mission reality with the effort of Amplitude Cohort Community and Esther to support us and having Leah Tharin, curator of Leah’s ProducTea, top PLG and Growth speaker in Berlin.
To match such quality Babbel accept the challenge with Clemence Chee, >10 years as a Data & Technology enthusiast, Investor and VP at Babbel and ex Hello Fresh. It seems an interesting start of the year <3.
Our last thanks goes to Lenny’s Newsletter with orb. sponsorship for this event. Lenny community renovate our collaboration for 2024 with more ideas and budget, embracing our philosophy where we want to invest on useful things for our Community!
More about our community from Daniele
If you look at the founding team, we are learning from our new experiences as community builders, while we are fast learners, we still value improving the following topics:
how to increase learning-quality?
how to make it financially sustainable?
how to create a separate entity for paid learning / networking opportunities?
as a job seeker, how to find my next job, facing huge competition, and an high energy consuming pet project?
how AI and ChatGPT will shape our PM work in the upcoming years?

One thing is clear, we love hosting dynamic events and the overall energy of product management, where the community of our participants is close-knit and everyone enjoys learning and sharing their experiences to grow together.
The bullet points that stand out for us were:
Encourage a positive and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas.
Host events, conferences, or meetups specifically focused on product management and development.
Invite industry experts to share insights and experiences with the community.
Encourage a sense of ownership by allowing individuals to take the lead on projects and initiatives.
Recognize and celebrate achievements and milestones within the community.
Create a culture that views failures as learning opportunities and encourages experimentation.
Well, we are not in bad shape at all :)
While the road to acquire more potential sponsors can be challenging, as many of them request for participant emails to at least reach out one time, it sounds simple but arises the fear to become commercialized and losing this early day magic. Let’s see.
Down to reality, the win-win situation is getting interesting sponsorship that will allow us to shape unique events, having budget for paid support!
I was personally curious what means to bring in Berlin a top speaker and I moved from 10h preparation to 60h, 5 sponsors, and larger network. Hope is worth and we gonna enjoy this upcoming month event!
Indeed the title is for BPM too, A blueprint for sustainable Growth, both for products and the community!
Seeing at the December vibes, we gonna have a fun 2024 🎢!
With ♥ from Berlin,
Daniele
Highlights from our December event
During the roundtable discussions, many participants expressed a desire for community growth as it expands. While there are numerous product-related meetups and events in Berlin, they were delighted to meet other relevant and proficient PMs and consultants within the BPM community.
It's a sign that we're evolving in the right direction for us!
Thanks to Iasmina Craciun for taking care of the pictures and our lovely sponsor Orb, Lenny's Newsletter, and Le Wagon Germany for covering the costs!
What we are building next: CoHorts
BPM team co-founders, Carlo and Daniele, are working on CoHorts, online and in-person monthly programs, to foster career growth and networking for senior-level individuals with the collaboration of Antonia Landi, Freelance Product Operations & Product Management Leader, and one of the top voices in European Product Operations among other great mentors!
Currently focused on user research and the establishment of the launch of our first CoHort, the team plans to kick this off in Q2/24.
Connect w/ Daniele to learn more!
That’s it for today; we hope we provided some food for your thoughts to start this year strong!
Share your opinion: would you be interested in purchasing any Berlin Product Managers swag, with proceeds contributing to community development? If so, which items would you be interested in?
Leave your response in the comments to the post.
See you at our next Meetup!
